Keep the Candles Lit
What the Chronicle costs to keep burning, and what a coffee buys.
What this is
The Citadel Chronicle is a free, ad-free timeline of A Song of Ice and Fire — twelve thousand years of Westeros, set down in a maester's hand, from the Dawn Age to the events of the novels. It runs in ten languages, carries no paywall, and shows no advertisement. Nothing here is sold; the history stays open to the whole realm.
What it costs to keep lit
A chronicle this size is not free to keep. Hosting the archive, the tools that build and translate it, and the small services that keep the timeline fast all draw a modest, steady cost each moon. None of it is dramatic — it is candle-wax, not gold — but it does not pay for itself.
What a coffee does
A gift here does one thing, plainly: it covers the hosting and the tools, and nothing else. No feature is unlocked by it, no article is gated behind it. It simply keeps the Chronicle online for the next reader who needs it. A coffee is about $5 — give what you like, or give nothing and read on freely either way.
a coffee is ~$5 — one time, no account needed

Plain answers
Where does my gift go?
Straight to the Chronicle's running costs — hosting, the build and translation tools, and the small services that keep the timeline fast. Nothing else. It is candle-wax, not profit.
Is this the official A Song of Ice and Fire site?
No. The Citadel Chronicle is an unofficial fan project, not affiliated with, authorized, or endorsed by George R. R. Martin, HBO, or Warner Bros. Discovery. A gift supports this fan archive alone.
Do I get anything for supporting?
Nothing is unlocked and nothing is gated — the whole Chronicle is free to everyone whether you give or not. A gift simply keeps it online. With your leave, your name can be added to the patrons' scroll; that is the only token, and it is optional.
