A questionnaire from the Citadel

Which House of Westeros Claims You?

Nine questions, put plainly, as a maester might set them before a green ward to take the measure of his character. Answer honestly — not as you would wish to be, but as you are — and the rookery will name the great house whose temper matches your own.

Question 1 of 9

A man sworn to your service breaks his oath to shield his own brother from your justice. He kneels before you now. What moves your hand?

How does the House Quiz work?

You answer nine questions about how you would rule, fight, love, and remember. Each answer leans toward the temperament of one or more great houses; when you finish, the house whose values you echoed most often is named as your own. There are no right answers — only truer ones.

Is the quiz based on the books?

Yes. Every house, every set of words, and every temperament is drawn from George R. R. Martin's novels and histories rather than the television adaptation. The questions are written in the voice of a maester of the Citadel, and the readings lean on how each house is actually drawn on the page.

Can I retake the House Quiz?

As often as you like. Answer differently and the rookery will name a different house — the questionnaire only reflects the answers you give it, so a change of heart is always a change of banner.

Which houses can I be sorted into?

All nine of the great houses of Westeros: Stark, Lannister, Targaryen, Baratheon, Tyrell, Martell, Arryn, Greyjoy, and Tully. Every one is reachable, and adjacent temperaments — Stark and Tully, Lannister and Tyrell — are set apart by the finer questions.
