Trezentos anos do dragão, geração a geração

A árvore genealógica Targaryen

The Exile and the Dreamer (c. 114 BC)

Aenar Targaryenthe Exile

fl. c. 114 BC, if the Valyrian records be trusted

Estilo Lord of Dragonstone

Desposou wives and sisters, their names lost

He sold his estates in the Freehold and removed his household, five dragons, and his pride to a smoking rock in the narrow sea, on no firmer authority than a daughter's dream. Twelve years later Valyria burned, which rather settled the argument.

Daenys Targaryenthe Dreamer

fl. c. 114 BC

Desposou Gaemon the Glorious, her brother

Pais Aenar Targaryen

Her book of prophecies, Signs and Portents, is said to survive on Dragonstone, though no maester of the Citadel has been permitted to weigh its accuracy. Foreseeing the Doom remains the single best-attested prediction in the history of the discipline.

Gaemon Targaryenthe Glorious

Estilo Lord of Dragonstone

Desposou Daenys the Dreamer, his sister

Pais Aenar Targaryen

What precisely he did to earn the style 'Glorious' the chronicles neglect to say, which tells us something about the chronicles. He wed his sister after the Valyrian fashion and kept the line unbroken.

Aegon Targaryen

Estilo Lord of Dragonstone

Desposou Maron Martell, Prince of Dorne

Pais Aegon IV · Naerys

Her marriage in 187 AC sealed Dorne to the Iron Throne, whatever her heart had wanted — and the songs insist it wanted Daemon Blackfyre. She is said to have counseled mercy for Daemon's captive sons, proving grace survives even a political wedding.

Last and loveliest of the Great Bastards, one eye green and one blue, learned in tongues and — the credulous add — in darker arts involving baths of blood. Bittersteel and Bloodraven both wanted her; she took the one as a lover and the other's war as an entertainment, and outfoxed history itself by escaping its notice.

  1. The paternity of Daeron II: Aegon IV on his deathbed hinted his heir was the Dragonknight's son, not his own. No proof was ever offered, the accusation flattering neither the accuser's honor nor his queen's, yet it armed Daemon Blackfyre's cause and five rebellions besides. The Citadel observes that Daeron's conduct was his mother's and his uncle's in every particular that mattered, whichever man supplied the seed.

  2. Whether Orys Baratheon was truly Lord Aerion's bastard, and every stag-crowned claim since therefore doubly dragon-blooded. Aegon the Conqueror neither owned nor denied it; his silence has kept the question alive for three hundred years.

  3. The paternity of Rhaenyra's three elder sons, brown of hair in a family of silver: Velaryon by law, Strong by rumor, and the rumor cost a tongue or two before it cost a war. Grand Maester Mellos held that hair proves little; Vaemond Velaryon held otherwise, briefly.

  4. Whether the babe presented to Robert Baratheon in a crimson cloak was Prince Aegon at all. The Golden Company now marches for a young man who says it was not; Lord Varys is curiously adjacent to every version of the tale, and the Citadel reserves judgment until a dragon does.

  5. The paternity of Viserys Plumm, got — the court japed — either by an ancient husband dead on his wedding night or by King Aegon IV, who was demonstrably alive. The Plumms of the westerlands and a certain sellsword captain in Meereen have dined on the ambiguity ever since.

  6. The claimants of the Great Council of 101 included, among the nine lesser candidates, descendants of Princess Saera by her Volantene patrons. Saera herself declined to press a claim, reportedly amused; her line's whereabouts today the Citadel cannot state.

  7. Why Lords Aelyx, Baelon, and Daemion each held Dragonstone in turn and died — the first two childless — the pre-Conquest records do not say, having largely burned with Valyria's other certainties. Where records are silent, maesters multiply.

  8. The outlaws styled the Rat, the Hawk, and the Pig appear twice in the annals a generation apart: assaulting Princess Aelora at a masked ball, and slain fighting Prince Daeron in 251 AC. Whether these were the same men grown old in infamy, sons trading on the style, or a scribe's contamination of one tale by another, the maesters dispute with more enthusiasm than evidence.

  9. What Brynden Rivers became beyond the Wall after 252 AC. The wildlings tell of a sorcerer in a hollow hill wearing weirwood pale and red; the Citadel files this among singers' inventions, though it files it carefully.

  10. What passed in the Red Mountains of Dorne in 283 AC, where Lord Eddard Stark found his sister dying and left three Kingsguard buried — knights who by every oath should have stood beside their king, or his heirs, and stood instead by a tower the smallfolk name Joy. The records are silent, Lord Eddard was silenter, and the Citadel merely notes that silence, too, is a kind of testimony.
